ELDC — Using Social Media To Make Your Training Organization Succeed

I’m presenting three sessions at the e-Learning Developer’s Conference in Salt Lake City June 14-16.

Using Social Media To Make Your Training Organization Succeed

If you went to Home Depot and bought a tool, you’d probably expect that you’d need to learn how to use it to get good results. And if the hammer you bought kept missing the nail, you wouldn’t bring it back and complain that the hammer was bad and you needed another.

I hear constantly from clients that they’ve installed their wiki, but nobody uses it. Or that their CEO won’t post to the nice blog they set up. Or that they’ve bought an expensive collaboration tool, and it doesn’t seem to have any documents up there.

We’ll change all that. There’s a new way of thinking that can engage your audience and drive attention and collaboration — you just need to quit thinking like we did in 1999.

In this session you’ll hear:

· A real-world case study of a mortgage broker who broke out from the herd

· How a scissors manufacturer went from obscurity to rock-star fame

· How you can use simple online tools to develop and drive your social media efforts

· How to spot the hucksters, puffballs and downright liars who sell you expensive social media tools that you don’t need and will never be able to make work
